Arcanum is 7-1 against Newton Local since January of 2015, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Thursday. The Arcanum Trojans will head out on the road to face off against the Newton Local Indians at 7:00 p.m. Hopefully Arcanum focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 15 on Saturday.
Arcanum had to kick off their season on the road, but they showed no ill effects. They walked away with a 51-44 win over Fort Recovery.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Arcanum to victory, but perhaps none more so than Alexis Gibbons, who scored 15 points. Ashlyn Miller was another key contributor, scoring 15 points.
Meanwhile, Newton Local earned a 48-38 victory over Riverside on Monday.
Arcanum's win bumped their record up to 1-0. As for Newton Local, their win bumped their record up to an identical 1-0.
Everything came up roses for Arcanum against Newton Local in their previous meeting back in February as the team secured a 55-26 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Arcanum since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
