Indian Hill has gone 9-1 against Reading recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Monday. The Braves will face off against the Blue Devils at 5:00 p.m. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Indian Hill will roll into the game after a wild two-game stretch: they only put up one run on Tuesday, then bounced right back against Purcell Marian on Wednesday. The Braves put the hurt on the Cavaliers with a sharp 18-3 win. The Braves not only won on Wednesday, but they posted their biggest win since May 14, 2024.
Devlan Daniel made a splash no matter where he played. On the mound, he tossed two innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit. Daniel was even better at the plate, scoring two runs and stealing three bases while getting on base in three of his five plate appearances. That's the most stolen bases he has posted since back in May of 2024.
In other batting news, Luke Egnaczyk and Brady Drost did most of the damage at the plate: Egnaczyk went a perfect 1-for-1 with two runs, one triple, and one RBI, while Drost scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in three of his five plate appearances. Dylan Hartman was another key player, scoring a run while getting on base in three of his five plate appearances.
Indian Hill always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .575. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Purcell Marian only posted an OBP of .375.
Meanwhile, Reading had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They came out on top against Blanchester by a score of 5-2 last Saturday.
Like Indian Hill, Reading also got a great game from a two-way player: Connor Davis. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out eight batters over four innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits (and not a single walk). Davis was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while going 2-for-3.
Davis wasn't the only one making solid contact as two players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Jason Lunsford, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI. Another was Jackson Thamann, who scored two runs while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances.
Indian Hill took their victory against Reading in their previous meeting back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 12-6 score. Do the Braves have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Blue Devils turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
