The Bishop LeBlond Eagles and the Lawson Cardinals will round out the year against one another at 8:30 p.m. on Wednesday at. Hopefully Bishop LeBlond is not getting complacent, as they presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Lawson in Missouri (Bishop LeBlond is ranked 34th, while Lawson is ranked 366th).
Last Monday, it was close, but Bishop LeBlond sidestepped West Platte for a 45-42 victory. The victory was just what Bishop LeBlond needed coming off of a 71-48 loss in their prior contest.
Meanwhile, Lawson waltzed into their match Monday with two straight wins but they left with three. They came out on top against Orrick by a score of 51-39.
Lawson's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Isaac Willoughby, who scored 17 points along with eight rebounds. The match was Willoughby's third in a row with at least ten points. Brogan Crawford was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on ten points and 11 rebounds.
Bishop LeBlond's win bumped their record up to 9-2. As for Lawson, the victory got them back to even at 4-4.
Bishop LeBlond took their win against Lawson when the teams last played back in January by a conclusive 69-48. The rematch might be a little tougher for Bishop LeBlond since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
