The Ridgeview Christian Crusaders's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their sixth straight loss. They took a 48-37 hit to the loss column at the hands of Grace Christian. While losing is never fun, Ridgeview Christian can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Virginia basketball rankings (they are ranked 356th, while Grace Christian is ranked 131st).
Lucy Wells continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for Grace Christian, scoring 18 points along with seven rebounds and two blocks. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Wells has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Maddie Harper, who scored 12 points along with six assists and three steals.
Ridgeview Christian's defeat was their third straight at home, which bumped their record down to 1-7. As for Grace Christian, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 7-2.
Ridgeview Christian will head out on the road to challenge Cornerstone Christian at 5:45 p.m. on Thursday. Grace Christian won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Christian Heritage Academy at 12:00 p.m. on January 20th. Christian Heritage Academy comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 21 points in their last four games, a trend the team is of course eager to reverse.
