Everett extended the longest winning streak in Capital Area - Blue this week by beating Jackson, 34-0. This was the team's 10th consecutive win.
East Lansing made the biggest jump in the national rankings this week, rising to 2,802 from 2,983. The improvement came about via a 38-9 victory over Okemos last week.
The Trojans' offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. JAKE PENDRED threw for 94 and two touchdowns and JAVON HAINES had 74 yards receiving. On the ground ALVIN ROBERTSON chipped in 115 yards. CALEB GOODMAN helped East Lansing's passing attack out by catching one ball for 20 yards.
East Lansing's PENDRED and HAINES have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. PENDRED has thrown for 1112 yards this season, while HAINES, a 6-foot-2 receiver, has 44 catches for 696 yards. Holt's Ty Glover leads the league in rushing yards with 1063.
Two of the top units in the league will face off this week when Bill Feraco's team takes on Everett. The Trojans' offense has scored 207 points this season, good for No. 1 in the league, while Marcelle Carruthers' team has allowed only 64 on the year.
A big matchup in Capital Area - Blue this week will be when the Vikings take on East Lansing. Everett is in first place, while the Trojans are in third place.
East Lansing led the league in scoring this week after putting up 38 points on the Chieftains. PENDRED in the win.
