Basketball Recap: Brett Roper Key Part of Team Effort in Vikings Win

First Presbyterian Day hadn't done well against Windsor Academy recently (they were 0-4 in their previous four matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. The Vikings blew past the Knights 76-56. The Vikings have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won four games by 20 points or more this season.

First Presbyterian Day's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Brett Roper, who went 9-for-16 en route to 22 points along with five boards and three steals. Roper continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Gavin Wilson was another key player, dropping a double-double with 14 points and 12 rebounds.

First Presbyterian Day smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 14 offensive boards. They are a perfect 3-0 when they hit their own glass that hard.

Several Knights players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Greg Brooks, who dropped a double-double with 12 points and 15 boards. Another player making a difference was Jaquan Lewis, who posted 11 points and three steals.

The win made it two in a row for First Presbyterian Day and bumps their season record up to 4-2. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 72.0 points over those games. As for Windsor Academy, they now have a losing record of 2-3.

First Presbyterian Day didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 59-57 win against Trinity Christian on the 5th. As for Windsor Academy, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 64-49 victory against Covenant Academy on the 6th.
