The Albuquerque Bulldogs will square off against the Dexter Demons at 3:30 p.m. on Friday. Albuquerque is coming into the game hot, having won their last 12 games.
Albuquerque's pitching crew heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Tuesday. They put the hurt on Rio Grande with a sharp 19-0 victory. Considering the Bulldogs have won 14 contests by more than five runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.
Raquel Waldrop made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, six RBI, and three runs. Those four hits gave her a new career-high.

In other batting news, Albuquerque let Aurora Green and Annika Stanley run wild. Green went a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, four runs, and five RBI, while Stanley went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI. That's the most hits Green has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Emma Gonzalez, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases, one triple, and one run.
Albuquerque kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 17 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least ten hits in six consecutive games.
Meanwhile, after some red-hot attacks at the plate in their last four matchups, Dexter finally came back down to earth on Saturday. They came up short against Aztec, falling 7-1. The Demons' defeat signaled the end of their four-game winning streak.
Kaylonie Nevarez spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four earned (and three unearned) runs on eight hits.
Albuquerque's win bumped their record up to 19-2. As for Dexter, their loss dropped their record down to 14-4.
Friday's contest might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Albuquerque has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .601. However, it's not like Dexter struggles in that department as they've averaged .535. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Albuquerque was able to grind out a solid victory over Dexter in their previous meeting back in April of 2025, winning 9-6. Will the Bulldogs repeat their success, or do the Demons have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
