On the other side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Ririe's defense and their three sacks. Leading the way was Johnson and his two. His also deserves a shoutout for his performance on D, picking up two sacks and making four total tackles (2.0 for loss).
Malad didn't have too much breathing room in their matchup against Ririe in their previous meeting back in September of 2023, but they still walked away with a 12-8 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Malad since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
