Whether it be Friday or in Alabama's Class 1A state playoffs,
Alvin Henderson of
Elba is on the verge of becoming the 12th player in high school football history to rush for 10,000 yards.
Henderson is 264 yards away from 10,000 but averaging 269 per game this season, so while Friday night's opponent is no pushover in 7-2
Florala, he could turn in an ordinary performance by his standard and still get there.
The 5-foot-11, 205-pound senior Auburn commit has piled up 2,426 yards and 42 touchdowns on the ground in nine games this season. That comes on the heels of a record-breaking junior campaign where he ran for 3,523 yards and 61 scores.
Alvin Henderson has posted single-game rushing totals of 446, 345 and 344 this season. He ran for 355 yards last year in a win over Friday's opponent Florala. (Photo: Brandon Sumrall)

The last player to get to 10,000 at the high school level was current LSU running back Treyvion Holly in 2022. He joined a list that includes NFL MVP candidate Derrick Henry and 2011 MaxPreps National Player of the Year Johnathan Gray.
