Malvern Prep is a perfect 4-0 against Holy Ghost Prep since May of 2021 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Wednesday. Malvern Prep will venture away from home to square off against Holy Ghost Prep at 4:00 p.m. The two teams each escaped (but just barely!) with wins against their previous opponents.
Malvern Prep took a loss when they played away from home on Wednesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Saturday. They never let Sussex Central get on the board and left with a 1-0 victory. The one-run effort marked the Friars' lowest-scoring match of the season, but in the end it didn't matter.

The result came thanks to Jack Herbein's shutout, as he gave up just two hits. What's more, he posted four strikeouts, the most he's had since back in May of 2024.
At the plate, Malvern Prep saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Owen Hammond, who went 1-for-2 with one double.
Meanwhile, Holy Ghost Prep was not the first on the board on Saturday, but they got there more often. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Neshaminy, sneaking past 4-2. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Firebirds.
Nick Armitage tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out six over 6.1 innings pitched.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Eddie Rosado, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one home run and one stolen base. That home run marked the first that he launched this season. Matt Evans was another key player, scoring a run and stealing two bases while going 1-for-2.
Malvern Prep pushed their record up to 9-1 with the win, which was their 20th straight at home dating back to last season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.6 runs on average over those games. As for Holy Ghost Prep, their record now sits at 2-3.
Malvern Prep took their win against Holy Ghost Prep in their previous matchup back in May of 2024 by a conclusive 8-2. The rematch might be a little tougher for Malvern Prep since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
