The Portville Panthers suffered their closest loss yet this season on Friday. They fell just short of Frewsburg by a score of 55-52. It was the first time this season that Portville let down their fans at home.
Frewsburg's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Jadyn Trocki, who scored 18 points along with seven steals. Trocki is on a roll when it comes to points, as she's now scored 15 or more in the last five games she's played. Another player making a difference was Ava Jimerson, who scored 11 points along with seven rebounds and four steals.
Portville's loss ended an eight-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 7-2. As for Frewsburg, the victory was the seventh in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 10-2.
Portville will look to defend their home court on Friday against Falconer at 7:30 p.m. As for Frewsburg, they will head out on the road to face off against Cassadaga Valley at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Cassadaga Valley will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps New York Rankings (they are ranked 380th, while Frewsburg is ranked 60th).
