This season hasn't been kind to the Elberta Warriors, who are still winless after their 15th matchup. They were beaten by Tate 39-6 on Monday. If Elberta was looking for revenge after losing 47-10 to them when the teams met, then they'll just have to keep looking.
Tate found their leader in underclassman Taylor Malone, who scored 19 points. It was the first time this season that Malone scored 15 or more points. The team also got some help courtesy of Hannah Pittman, who scored ten points.
Elberta's loss was their 24th straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-15. As for Tate, their win ended a seven-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 4-8.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Elberta won't have much time to rest: their next game is against the Dolphins at 5:00 p.m. on January 23rd. Gulf Shores presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than the Warriors in Alabama (the Dolphins are ranked 64th, while the Warriors are ranked 448th). As for Tate, they will head out on the road to take on the Gators at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Escambia is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'.
