The Earlville Red Raiders's recent rough patch got a bit rougher  on Monday after their third straight loss. They took a serious blow against Newark, falling  61-21. The  loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Earlville in their matchups with Newark: they've now lost seven in a row.
 When it comes to explaining why Earlville lost, one person who can't be blamed is  Madyson  Olson. Despite the final result, she  scored 14 points. The  match was  Olson's fifth in a row with at least ten points.
 Earlville has  traveled a rocky road recently, as they've  lost eight of their last nine games,  which put a noticeable dent in their 3-15 record this season. As for Newark, their victory bumped their record up to 8-9.
 Earlville's road trip will continue as they head out to face Somonauk/Leland at 7:00  p.m.  on January 16th. Newark will have some time to savor their  win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Hinckley-Big Rock at 7:00  p.m.  on January 29th.
