Pike Road has gone a perfect 7-0 against Russell County recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Thursday. The Pike Road Patriots will venture away from home to face off against the Russell County Warriors at 6:30 p.m. Pike Road will be strutting in after a win while Russell County will be coming in after a loss.

Pike Road took a ten-run defeat the last time they faced off against Holtville, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. Pike Road narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past Holtville 6-4. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Patriots as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.

Abby Olesen spent all eight innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned (and one unearned) runs on eight hits.

On the hitting side, Kasyn Wilson was incredible, going 2-for-5 with three RBI, one triple, and one run.

Pike Road hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They are 6-2 when they post two or more strikeouts.

Meanwhile, Russell County was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their ninth straight loss. They came up short against Valley, falling 16-0.

Pike Road pushed their record up to 7-12 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.3 runs over those games. As for Russell County, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-9.

Everything went Pike Road's way against Russell County in their previous matchup two weeks ago, as Pike Road made off with a 15-0 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Pike Road since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
