The Palm Beach Gardens Gators had to kick off their season on the road on Tuesday, but they showed no ill effects. They walked away with a 66-58 victory over Oxbridge Academy. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Several ThunderWolves players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Jarret Mauvais, who scored 15 points along with 3 steals. Edmyer St Jean was another key contributor, scoring 13 points along with 3 steals.
Palm Beach Gardens' win bumped their record up to 1-0. As for Oxbridge Academy, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 0-2.
Palm Beach Gardens will head out on the road to face off against Dr. Joaquin Garcia at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Oxbridge Academy, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Greenacres Christian at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Hopefully Greenacres Christian focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 17 on Wednesday.
