Basketball Recap: First Presbyterian Academy at Shannon Forest Takes a Loss

First Presbyterian Academy at Shannon Forest was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They were three points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 54-51 heartbreaker at the hands of the Easley HomeSchool Guardians. The Crusaders were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Guardians apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in January.

Loss or not, First Presbyterian Academy at Shannon Forest got some senior leadership from Tucker Shealy and Ethan Flynn. Shealy posted 17 points in addition to five assists and five steals, while Flynn scored 13 points along with five boards and three steals. Shealy's evening made it four games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Harrison Boyce, who put up nine points and seven rebounds.

First Presbyterian Academy at Shannon Forest's defeat dropped their record down to 4-7. As for Easley HomeSchool, their victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 7-1.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. First Presbyterian Academy at Shannon Forest will venture away from home to face off against Southside Christian at 7:30 p.m. on December 20th. As for Easley HomeSchool, they will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Laurens Academy at 7:00 p.m. on January 9, 2025.
