The Crawford County Eagles suffered their biggest loss since December 2, 2023 on Tuesday. They ended up on the wrong side of a rough 54-30 walloping at the hands of Lamar County. While losing is never fun, Crawford County can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 455th, while Lamar County is ranked 80th).
Crawford County's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jada Harris, who scored 13 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jakayla Peeples, who scored nine points.
Crawford County's loss dropped their record down to 5-9. As for Lamar County, the win (which was their 12th in a row) raised their record to 13-3.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Crawford County will take on Temple at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Temple is coming into the game hot, having won their last three games. As for Lamar County, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Heard County at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
