Vista del Lago extended the longest winning streak in Sierra Valley this week by beating Galt, 68-13. The victory was the seventh in a row for the Eagles.
El Dorado moved up to 693 from 777 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in the league. The Cougars climbed the ranks as a result of falling to Cosumnes Oaks 43-0.
Vista del Lago's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Matt Jimison threw for 276 and six touchdowns and Chris Cooper had 87 yards receiving. On the ground Andrew Schantz chipped in 71 yards. Dustin Boswell helped Vista del Lago's passing attack out by catching three balls for 53 yards.
6-foot-2 quarterback Jimison of Chris Jones' team is the league leader in passing yards this season with 1445. He has also thrown 23 touchdowns. On the ground, Liberty Ranch's Matt Thomas has rushed for 626 yards which leads the league. The leading receiver in the league this season is Clayton Van Duyn. The El Dorado star has 43 catches for 468 yards.
The top two teams in Sierra Valley will face off this week when first place Vista del Lago takes on second place Cosumnes Oaks. The Eagles topped the Warriors last week, while the Wolfpack bested El Dorado.
