Luke MacDonald was incredible, firing off two home runs and three RBI while going 2-for-4. Those two home runs gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Patrick Drudy, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one double and one RBI.
Leo hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least three batters in four consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, Fort Wayne Bishop Dwenger was able to grind out a solid win over Angola on Saturday, taking the game 12-7. The Saints haven't had any issues with the Hornets recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive victory against them.
Braxton Bermes was a standout: he went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. Eddie Miller was another key player, going 1-for-2 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.
Fort Wayne Bishop Dwenger's win bumped their record up to 22-8. As for Leo, their victory bumped their record up to 22-5.
Monday's match will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Leo hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .351. However, it's not like Fort Wayne Bishop Dwenger struggles in that department as they've averaged .323. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
