Watervliet is a perfect 5-0 against Bangor since May of 2015 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. The Panthers will challenge the Vikings at 4:15 p.m. Watervliet is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7 runs per game this season.

On Saturday, Watervliet came up short against Schoolcraft and fell 5-1.

Bangor came out on top against Mendon on Saturday thanks in part to the team's impressive ten-run fourth inning. The Vikings never let the Hornets get on the board and left with a 13-0 win. The Vikings might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won ten contests by ten runs or more this season.

Terrance Payn was a major factor no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only one hit over four innings pitched. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Bangor is 3-1 when he allows at most one earned run, but 12-14 otherwise. Payn was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with two runs and one RBI.

In other batting news, Jaret McCoy was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. That's the most hits he has posted since back in April. Another player making a difference was Julian Pullins, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.

The victory was the third in a row for Bangor, bringing their record up to 15-15. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.0 runs over those games. As for Watervliet, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 16-5 record this season.

Everything went Watervliet's way against Bangor when the teams last played back in May of 2024, as Watervliet made off with a 14-0 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Panthers since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
