II Section II recap October 1, 2013
Buena was the team that gained the most ground in the standings this week, jumping from sixth to fourth in II Section II. Earlier in the week, the Colts triumphed over Douglas 62-0.
Buena took down the Bulldogs 62-0 last week, the largest margin of any game. Rafael Adames threw for 315 yards and 4 touchdowns and ran for 11 yards during the win.
Deonte Williams was the best wideout in the league this week as Ryan Scherling's team topped Douglas. Williams racked up 5 receptions for 182 yards.
The Colts' Adames and Williams have formed a dream team this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. Adames has thrown for 1,551 yards this season, while Williams, a 6-foot-3 receiver, has 30 catches for 649 yards. Daniel Bonn from Sunnyside leads the league in rushing with 546 yards.
The Blue Devils are currently in second, while Nogales is in third.
Sunnyside made the biggest jump in the national rankings this week, rising to 2,928 from 4,436. The improvement was the result of a 27-0 victory over Cibola last week.
