Currituck County walked away with a 75-68 victory over Pasquotank County on Friday. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Currituck County's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Luke Morgan, who dropped a double-double on 22 points and 12 rebounds. Morgan has been hot recently, having posted 11 or more rebounds the last four times he's played. Another player making a difference was Malcolm Cowell, who scored 20 points along with two steals.
Pasquotank County's loss came despite strong showings from Tristan Peterson and Brandon Smith. Peterson dropped a double-double on 23 points and 11 rebounds, while Smith scored 18 points along with five rebounds and five blocks. Peterson is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 15 or more in the last four games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Jayon Harris, who scored seven points.
Currituck County has been performing well recently as they've won ten of their last 13 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 14-7 record this season. As for Pasquotank County, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost eight of their last nine contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-15 record this season.

As for Pasquotank County, they will head out on the road to take on First Flight at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in First Flight's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last five matches.
