Baseball Recap: Lincoln East Picks Up Third Consecutive Win

Lincoln East entered their tilt with Lincoln Southeast on Tuesday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. They were the clear victors by a 10-4 margin over the Knights. Considering the Spartans have won ten matches by more than five runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Santino Arranaga looked comfortable as he kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out six over four innings pitched. Those six strikeouts gave him a new career-high.

At the plate, Jeter Worthley was excellent, scoring two runs while going 2-for-2. The team also got some help courtesy of Carter Harmes, who went 1-for-3 with one home run.

Lincoln East's win bumped their record up to 15-2. As for Lincoln Southeast, their defeat was their sixth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 6-10.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Lincoln East is set to face off against their familiar foe Kearney at 12:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Spartans 2.8, the Bearcats 3.6) so any runs scored will be well earned. Meanwhile, Lincoln Southeast will take on rival Westview at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
