Given Canandaigua Academy's advantage in MaxPreps' New York basketball rankings (they are ranked 220th, while World of Inquiry is ranked 482nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
When it comes to explaining why World of Inquiry lost, one person who can't be blamed is Jaedon Adams. Despite the final result, he scored 32 points. The game was Adams' sixth in a row with at least ten points. Deandre Leonard was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on ten points and 13 rebounds.
The win makes it two in a row for Canandaigua Academy and bumps their season record up to 6-1. As for World of Inquiry, they now have a losing record at 3-4.
Canandaigua Academy will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Pittsford at 7:15 p.m. on January 12, 2024. As for World of Inquiry, they will be playing at home against Early College at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.
