The Prairie City-Monroe Mustangs scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Tuesday. They enjoyed a cozy 67-51 win over Perry. The win was familiar territory for Prairie City-Monroe who now have three in a row.
Perry's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Drake Levan, who scored 18 points along with nine rebounds, and Geren Kenney who scored 11 points along with three steals. That's the first time this season that Levan pulled down eight or more rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Zander Mahler, who scored seven points along with five rebounds.
Even though they lost, Perry were smashing the offensive glass and finished the game with 11 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
Prairie City-Monroe now has a winning record of 4-3. As for Perry, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-5.
Prairie City-Monroe will be home for the holidays to greet Roland-Story at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Roland-Story presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Prairie City-Monroe in Iowa (Roland-Story is ranked 31st, while Prairie City-Monroe is ranked 167th). As for Perry, they will head out on the road to face off against Saydel at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
