The Trenton Tigers's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their eighth straight loss. They fell 35-22 to Celeste. Trenton lost against Celeste in their previous head to head back in November of 2023, too, but the margin this time around was much wider than the 56-9 score last time.
Celeste's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Kennedy Compton, who scored 11 points along with six steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Taylea West, who scored seven points along with six steals.
Trenton bumped their record down to 7-12 with that loss, which was their fifth straight on the road. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 22.6 points per game. As for Celeste, their victory bumped their record up to 17-8.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Trenton will take on Wolfe City at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Celeste, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Whitewright at 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Whitewright's defense has only allowed 29.4 points per game this season, so Celeste's offense will have their work cut out for them.
