The Walton Raiders's road trip will continue as they head out to face the Lambert Longhorns at 1:30 p.m. on December 21st. Walton will be strutting in after a victory while Lambert will be coming in after a loss.
Last Tuesday, Walton didn't have too much trouble with Blessed Trinity on the road as they won 60-45.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Walton to victory, but perhaps none more so than Renee Radovich, who scored 13 points along with seven rebounds. Those seven rebounds set a new season-high mark for her. Another player making a difference was Layla Varghese, who scored 13 points along with five rebounds.
Meanwhile, Lambert's 21-8 record from last season is now well into the rear view mirror after another tough outing. They suffered a rough 67-44 defeat at the hands of Collins Hill on Saturday. While losing is never fun, Lambert can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 238th, while Collins Hill is ranked 93rd).
The win got Walton back to even at 4-4. As for Lambert, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost five of their last six matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-8 record this season.
Walton couldn't quite finish off Lambert in their previous matchup back in December of 2022 and fell 71-69. Can Walton avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
