Niceville is a perfect 3-0 against Godby since September of 2015 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The Eagles will be playing at home against the Cougars at 7:00 p.m. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Niceville is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They claimed a resounding 56-6 victory over Gulf Breeze. With the Eagles ahead 49-6 at the half, the game was all but over already.

Jakobe Gilyard and Deagan McCoy were among the main playmakers for Niceville as the former gained 104 total yards and three touchdowns and the latter threw for 179 yards and three touchdowns while completing 85.7% of his passes. The Eagles are 2-1 when McCoy posts three or more passing touchdowns, but 1-2 otherwise. Robert Oliver was another key player, picking up 105 receiving yards and one score.
Wins are hard to come by when you can't run the rock, something Niceville proved: they limited Gulf Breeze to a paltry 2.8 yards per carry. The Eagles didn't have any issues in that department, having averaged 8.6.
Meanwhile, Godby had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 11.5 points) and they went ahead and made it three on Friday. They came within four points of losing the streak, but they secured a 17-13 W against the Wildcats. The 17-point effort marked the Cougars' lowest-scoring contest of the season, but in the end it didn't matter.
A big part of Godby's win came down to the chemistry between Landon Dougherty and his top target Jamarin Simmons. Dougherty threw for 175 yards and one TD while Simmons gained 67 total yards and two touchdowns.
Godby's defense made their presence known, laying out the QB three times. The team can thank three different players for their defensive prowess: Jaylen Lawson, Lazarus Chambers, and Willie Ponder, who each picked up one sack apiece. Godby got some further help from Qyntel Strong: he made 15 total tackles (1.0 for loss).
The victory got Niceville back to even at 3-3. As for Godby, the win also got them back to even at 3-3.
Everything came up roses for Niceville against Godby in their previous meeting back in September of 2021, as the squad secured a 56-27 victory. One of the biggest obstacles trying to stand in the way of that victory was the Cougars' Chase Gillespie, who picked up 124 receiving yards and one touchdown, and also rushed for 65 yards and one score. Now that he won't be playing on Friday, will it be easier for the Eagles to walk away with another win? There's only one way to find out.
