The Hillcrest Christian Cougars were the 61-38 winner over the Parklane Academy Pioneers when they last played one another back in November of 2019, but their luck changed this time around. Hillcrest Christian lost to Parklane Academy on the road by a decisive 59-43 margin on Friday. While losing is never fun, Hillcrest Christian can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Mississippi basketball rankings (they are ranked 79th, while Parklane Academy is ranked 19th).
Despite the loss, Hillcrest Christian still got an impressive performance from Severe McNeary, who scored 20 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Darius Barnes, who scored seven points.
This is the second loss in a row for Hillcrest Christian and nudges their season record down to 11-5. As for Parklane Academy, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 10-2.
