The St. Francis Mariners will challenge the Milwaukee Lutheran Red Knights at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (St. Francis has eight straight wins, Milwaukee Lutheran has six straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
St. Francis is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They put the hurt on St. Anthony with a sharp 16-1 victory on Thursday. The result was nothing new for the Mariners, who have now won eight matchups by eight runs or more so far this season.
Noah Heitman made a splash while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out 12 batters over five innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. Those 12 strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also big at the plate, going a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, five RBI, and three runs.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Zach Perry, who went 1-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in RBI (two). Kingston Liddell was another key player, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.
St. Francis always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .581. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, Milwaukee Lutheran fell victim to South Milwaukee and their airtight pitching crew on Wednesday. They came up short against the Rockets, falling 24-0.
St. Francis pushed their record up to 11-6 with the win, which was their fifth straight at home. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.4 runs over those games. As for Milwaukee Lutheran, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-12-2.
