Softball Recap: Bristol Eastern Wins Going Away Against Lewis Mills

While Bristol Eastern put up some runs on Friday, the same can't be said for Lewis Mills. The Lancers were the clear victors by a 6-0 margin over the Spartans. The result was nothing new for the Lancers, who have now won eight matchups by six runs or more so far this season.

Not much got past Hailey Beebe, who gave up just three hits to keep Lewis Mills off the board.

On the hitting side, Gia Hatcher was a standout: she went 2-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one RBI. That triple marked the first that she has hit this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Gracie Brown, who earned two runs and three stolen bases.

The win made it two in a row for Bristol Eastern and bumps their season record up to 11-5. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 5 runs in those games. As for Lewis Mills, they have been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 9-8 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Bristol Eastern is set to face off against their familiar foe Northwest Catholic at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Meanwhile, Lewis Mills will challenge rival Farmington at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
