The result was an unpleasant reminder to Lovington of the 43-37 defeat they experienced in the two teams' previous head-to-head fixture last Tuesday.
Lovington's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Elizabeth Buendia, who scored ten points along with three steals.
Lovington has been struggling recently, as they've lost four of their last five matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 12-7 record this season. As for Carlsbad, their win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 11-8.
Lovington will take on Chaparral at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Chaparral is coming into the game on a three-game losing streak. As for Carlsbad, they will head out on the road to square off against Rio Rancho at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday.
