This season hasn't been kind to The Greenbrier Wolfpack, who are still winless after their ninth game. They were beaten by Coffee 56-7 on Friday. Greenbrier was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 28-0.
Brayden Stephens threw for 91 yards and a touchdown. Cole Trupp was his top target, picking up 43 receiving yards. On the ground, Nate Ames gained 57 total yards and a touchdown.
Fred Brown was his usual excellent self, rushing for 140 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 8.8 yards per carry. Brown hasn't dropped below 100 rushing yards for nine straight games. Tyrese Hansley also helped out as he racked up 103 rushing yards.
Greenbrier's defeat was their ninth straight on the road (dating back to last season), which dropped their overall record down to 0-9. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 11.1 points per game. As for Coffee, the victory for they keeps them at an undefeated 9-0.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Greenbrier will face off against Bradwell Institute at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Coffee, they will head out on the road to face off against Ware County at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Ware County is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
