The Mentor Cardinals will head out to square off against the Medina Battling Bees at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Mentor will be looking to extend their current 13-game winning streak.
Mentor can't be too worried about heading out to take on Medina: they just beat Brunswick at home, who had been dominant on their own field up to that point. The Cardinals never let the Blue Devils get on the board and left with a 2-0 victory on Wednesday.

Not much got past Addison Belviso, who gave up just three hits to keep Brunswick off the board. Belviso has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Mentor saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Aubree Col?n, who went 1-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI. Another was Kathryn Bouffard, who went 2-for-3 with one double and one RBI.
Medina let Shaker Heights stack four runs on them in the sixth inning on Wednesday but luckily Medina prevailed anyway. The Battling Bees came out on top against the Red Raiders by a score of 5-4 (the very same score they lost by in their prior game). The Battling Bees haven't had any issues with the Red Raiders recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive win against them.
Katie Rubino was incredible, going 1-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. The team also got some help courtesy of Ryann Allar, who went 2-for-3 with one run.
Mentor's victory was their sixth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 19-7. The road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.7 runs on average over those games. As for Medina, the victory got them back to even at 12-12.
Thursday's matchup will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Mentor hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .339. However, it's not like Medina struggles in that department as they've averaged .357. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Everything went Mentor's way against Medina in their previous meeting back in April, as Mentor made off with a 14-8 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Cardinals since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
