Old Colony RVT hadn't done well against Norfolk County Agricultural recently (they were 0-9 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Monday. The Cougars were the clear victors by a 21-14 margin over the Rams. Considering the Cougars have won seven contests by more than six runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

Madison Caton was a standout: she went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, three runs, and one double. Those three runs gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Emma Yelle, who went 2-for-4 with two runs, two doubles, and one RBI.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Old Colony RVT kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 19 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least ten hits in eight consecutive matchups.

Old Colony RVT has been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight games. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-7 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 16.5 runs over those games. As for Norfolk County Agricultural, their loss was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 5-5.

The future could be bright for both Old Colony RVT and Norfolk County Agricultural: their next opponents haven't had the best luck recently. The Cougars will try to hand Cape Cod RVT their third-straight defeat when the two meet at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Norfolk County Agricultural will look to extend Bristol County Agricultural's five-game losing streak when they meet at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
