Despite the loss, Bertie had strong showings from Alexia Dickerson, who scored four points along with 11 rebounds and three blocks, and Rakiyah Peele, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 11 rebounds. That was a full 43.3% of Bertie's points, marking the tenth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Tarboro has traveled a rocky road recently having lost six of their last seven matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-11 record this season. As for Bertie, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-9.
Tarboro ended up a good deal behind the Falcons in their previous meeting back in January, losing 48-31. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Peele, who scored 23 points along with eight rebounds and three steals.
