After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Rockdale, Hill Country Christian School of Austin was happy to have turned things around on Wednesday. They blew past the Navarro Vikings 11-3. The high-scoring effort was just what the Knights needed considering they were shutout in their previous matchup.
Erin Bosworth made a splash no matter where she played. She struck out 11 batters over four innings while giving up three earned runs off five hits. Bosworth was also solid in the batter's box, scoring three runs while getting on base in all three of her plate appearances.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Saylor Singleton, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, five RBI, and two runs. Another player making a difference was MC Gilliam, who scored two runs and stole two bases while going 1-for-2.
The win got Hill Country Christian School of Austin back to even at 1-1.
Hill Country Christian School of Austin will challenge Hyde Park at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Navarro, they will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Northeast Early College on February 18th.
