The Charlotte Latin Hawks lost against the Covenant Day Lions last Tuesday, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. Charlotte Latin was the victim of a rough 55-35 loss at the hands of the Lions. While losing is never fun, Charlotte Latin can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 166th, while the Lions are ranked 17th).
Leading Covenant Day to victory were Michael Marcus Jr. and Tyree White. Marcus Jr. scored 15 points along with eight rebounds, while White scored 15 points along with eight rebounds and six assists. Walker Olshefski was another key contributor, scoring four points along with five rebounds.
Charlotte Latin has traveled a rocky road recently having lost four of their last five games, which put a noticeable dent in their 12-12 record this season. As for Covenant Day, their victory was their 11th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 19-7.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Charlotte Latin will take on the Knights at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Charlotte Christian has now lost eight straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since January 6. As for Covenant Day, they will be playing in front of their home fans against the Buccaneers at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Charlotte Country Day School is coming into the game on a three-game losing streak.
