Falls Lake can now show off ten landslide victories after their most recent contest on Friday. They were the clear victor by a 61-39 margin over Franklin Academy. The game was all but wrapped up at the end of the third, by which point Falls Lake had established a 20 point advantage.
Emerson Thompson was her usual excellent self, dropping a triple-double on 23 points, 11 rebounds, and 11 assists. Thompson is crushing the rebound category: she's posted at least ten every time she's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Destiny Williams, who dropped a double-double on ten points and 12 rebounds.
Meanwhile, Research Triangle's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their ninth straight defeat. They took a serious blow against East Wake Academy, falling 57-26. Research Triangle has struggled against East Wake Academy recently, as their contest on Friday was their seventh consecutive lost matchup.
Falls Lake's win bumped their record up to 23-2. As for Research Triangle, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-13.
Falls Lake took their victory against Research Triangle in their previous matchup back in January by a conclusive 61-39. The rematch might be a little tougher for Falls Lake since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
