After a string of three wins, the Cox Mill Chargers's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They took a 41-25 bruising from Charlotte Country Day School. Having soared to a lofty 60 points in the game before, Cox Mill couldn't push the score so high this time.
Madison Alexander and Makayla Richardson certainly did their best on Friday to try and avoid the loss. Alexander scored 7 points, while Richardson scored 6 points along with 5 rebounds. Alexander scored a full 28% of Cox Mill's points, the second time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Charlotte Country Day School got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Sam Vanderhave out in front who scored 16 points. The game was Vanderhave's eighth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Margaret Blythe, who scored 11 points.
Cox Mill's loss dropped their record down to 4-2. As for Charlotte Country Day School, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a nice bump to their 7-2 record this season.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Cox Mill will be home for the holidays to greet Weddington at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Charlotte Country Day School, they have the luxury of staying home another game and will welcome Victory Christian Center at 1:00 p.m. on December 9th.
