Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Central Christian to victory, but perhaps none more so than Kate Holton, who had seven digs and three aces. Those three aces gave Holton a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Sarah Miller, who had nine digs and one assist.
They weren't the only good servers: Central Christian was lethal from the service line and finished the match with ten aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least five aces in nine consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, Norwayne hadn't done well against Dalton recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. The Bobcats put the hurt on the Bulldogs with a sharp 3-0 win.
One reason for the win was Norwayne's just kept getting better, winning each set by more points than the last. The match finished with set scores of 25-21, 25-18, 25-13.
Norwayne's victory bumped their record up to 16-3. As for Central Christian, their win bumped their record up to 15-5.
Here's a few offensive stats to keep an eye on ahead of Monday's match: Central Christian has really dialed in their serving this season, having averaged 12.2 aces per game. However, it's not like Norwayne struggles in that department as they've been averaging 9.2 aces. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out.
Central Christian might still be hurting after the 3-0 defeat they got from Norwayne when the teams last played back in October of 2024. Will the Comets have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check back here after the action for a full breakdown and analysis of the contest.
