On Saturday, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, Phoenix Day School for the Deaf beat Arizona School for the Deaf & Blind 38-33. The win was just what Phoenix Day School for the Deaf needed coming off of a 52-22 defeat in their prior contest.
Phoenix Day School for the Deaf found their leader in underclassman Donovan Etheridge, who scored eight points along with 19 rebounds. Etheridge continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Franchesco Yesuf, who scored 16 points.
Meanwhile, after soaring to 61 points the game before, Bagdad were a bit more limited in their match on Wednesday. The matchup between Bagdad and Wickenburg wasn't particularly close, with Bagdad falling 42-25. Bagdad has struggled against Wickenburg recently, as their match on Wednesday was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.
Phoenix Day School for the Deaf's victory bumped their record up to 3-6. As for Bagdad, their loss dropped their record down to 3-7.
Things could have been worse for Phoenix Day School for the Deaf, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 49-34 loss to Bagdad in their previous meeting back in December of 2022.
