The Rock Creek Academy Lions waltzed into their matchup Saturday with six straight wins but they left with seven. They took down Eastern 42-25. For Rock Creek Academy, this counts as revenge for the 57-48 loss Eastern walked away with the last time they faced one another back in December of 2022.
Aleeyah Brown continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, dropping a double-double on 19 points and 21 rebounds. Those 21 rebounds set a new season-high mark for her. jayli smith was another key contributor, scoring seven points along with eight rebounds.
Rock Creek Academy pushed their record up to 7-7 with that victory, which was their third straight on the road. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 57.0 points per game. As for Eastern, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-10.
Rock Creek Academy will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Shoals at 12:00 p.m. on December 30th. As for Eastern, they will head out on the road to face off against Southwestern at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Hopefully Southwestern focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 13 on Tuesday.
