Last Tuesday, Northwest beat Rider 43-32. The win was just what Northwest needed coming off of a 53-19 loss in their prior contest.
Saginaw posted their closest victory yet this season on Friday. They skirted past Rider 49-46. The victory was just what Saginaw needed coming off of a 52-29 defeat in their prior matchup.
Among those leading the charge was Amaya McGrew, who dropped a double-double on 24 points and ten rebounds. She also posted two blocks for the first time this season. Nevaeh Stockton was another key contributor, scoring four points.
Northwest is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups, which provided a massive bump to their 6-19 record this season. As for Saginaw, their win bumped their record up to 7-15.
Northwest came up short against Saginaw in their previous matchup back in December of 2023, falling 52-44. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Saginaw's Tatum Stone, who scored 25 points along with nine rebounds and three steals.
