Softball Game Preview: Forestview Jaguars vs. Stuart W. Cramer Storm

The Forestview Jaguars will take on the Stuart W. Cramer Storm at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Things were looking good for Forestview after they put the first points on the board on Wednesday, but unfortunately for them things went downhill from there. They lost 21-12 to East Gaston. While the Jaguars didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Warriors 8-0 in the first period.

Miley Skidmore was cooking despite her team's loss, going 4-for-5 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. Those four RBI gave her a new career-high. Allison Osborne was another key player, scoring two runs while going 1-for-4.

Skidmore wasn't the only one working in the hit department: Forestview kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in six consecutive contests.

Meanwhile, Tuesday just wasn't the day for Stuart W. Cramer's offense. They came up short against Crest on Tuesday, falling 10-0. The Storm have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Stuart W. Cramer's defeat dropped their record down to 2-7. As for Forestview, their loss dropped their record down to 5-7.

Thursday's match might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Forestview has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .446. However, it's not like Stuart W. Cramer struggles in that department as they've averaged .623. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
