Gigi Drohan made a splash while hitting and pitching. She struck out ten batters over five innings while giving up four earned (and four unearned) runs off eight hits. Those ten strikeouts gave her a new career-high. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 4-for-5 with six RBI, two runs, and two doubles. Those doubles marked the first that she has hit this season.
In other batting news, Nathan Hale got a massive performance out of Ainslie Smith, who got on base in four of her six plate appearances with three stolen bases, four runs, and one double. Those three stolen bases gave Smith a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Amelia Spencer, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.
Nathan Hale's victory ended a five-game drought at home and bumped them up to 6-12. As for Chief Sealth, their loss dropped their record down to 10-10.
