But it's safe to say Cheshire Academy has never had a student quite like
Chol Marial, a 7-foot-3 freshman basketball player originally from South Sudan.
MaxPreps caught up with Marial and the Cats on Jan. 20 as they took on Commonwealth Academy. See highlights in the video above.
View complete photo gallery of Chol Marial.Marial played varsity high school basketball as an eighth-grader last year at West Oaks (Orlando, Fla.), but followed head coach Shaun Wiseman when he took the job at Arlington Country Day (Jacksonville, Fla.).
In November he was on the move again, this time leaving the Sunshine State for Cheshire Academy, a member of the prestigious New England Preparatory School Athletic Council. Marial turned 16 in November and already has an offer from West Virginia according to head coach Kevin Kehoe.
