After both having extra time off, the Dayton Dust Devils and the Fernley Vaqueros will shake off the cobwebs and hit the court against one another at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Dayton will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak.
On Saturday, Dayton beat Elko 3-1.
While Dayton might've won, it sure wasn't easy: Elko scored at least 21 points in every set they played. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-21, 25-21, 27-29, 25-21.

Dayton's success was spearheaded by the efforts of ARACELI ACOSTA, who had 20 digs and three aces, and ALISI TULIMAFUA-CURRAN, who had 21 assists and 11 digs. ACOSTA is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had 12 or more in each of the last six games she's played.
They weren't the only good servers: Dayton was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 11 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least six aces in four consecutive matches.
Meanwhile, Fernley posted their closest win since August 26th on Saturday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Spring Creek, sneaking past 3-2. The victory continues a trend for the Vaqueros in their matchups with the Spartans: they've now won three in a row.
Fernley wouldn't go down easily and took Spring Creek into a fifth set where they got it done with a four-point win. The final score came out to 25-13, 25-17, 20-25, 22-25, 15-11.
Dayton's record now sits at 14-6. As for Fernley, their record is now 19-5.
Dayton came up short against Fernley in their previous matchup back in October of 2024, falling 3-1. Can the Dust Devils avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
