Basketball Recap: Wapahani Skates Past Winchester Community with Ease

Wapahani came tearing into Thursday's match with four straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 33.8 points) and they left with even more momentum. They blew past the Winchester Community Golden Falcons 56-20. The Raiders have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won six games by 25 points or more this season.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Wapahani to victory, but perhaps none more so than Megan Luce, who went 6 for 14 on her way to 17 points in addition to eight boards and four steals. That's the most boards Luce has posted since back in January. The team also got some help courtesy of Judy Dargo, who went 8 of 14 on her way to 20 points.

Wapahani's victory bumped their record up to 9-1. As for Winchester Community, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-5.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Wapahani will take on Frankton in a holiday battle at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday at. As for Winchester Community, they will face off against Cambridge City Lincoln at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday. Cambridge City Lincoln has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
