Brockway is 2-8 against Brookville since December of 2015 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Wednesday. The Brockway Rovers will be staying on the road to face off against the Brookville Raiders at 6:00 p.m. on December 27th. Both teams come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Brockway scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Monday. They blew past West Forest 66-39 on the road. For those curious, yes, that was the biggest victory Brockway has managed all season.
Brockway found their leader in underclassman Caleb Daugherty, who scored 21 points along with three steals. Those 21 points set a new season-high mark for him. Another player making a difference was Reese Yahner, who scored ten points along with nine rebounds.
Meanwhile, Brookville had to endure a four-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They snuck past St. Marys with a 51-47 win on Wednesday. The victory was all the more spectacular given Brookville's disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 442nd, while St. Marys is ranked 150th).
Brockway's win ended a six-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 1-5. As for Brookville, their win bumped their record up to 2-4.
Brockway took a serious blow against Brookville when the teams last played on December 1st, falling 64-19. The match was all but decided by halftime, at which point Brockway was down 35-11.
